The Elements of the Block Design
The technology behind the The Block is comprised of four essential elements: the concrete brick, wool, bamboo and Gooey suspension.
Concrete Brick
Concrete absorbs sound frequencies and resonates at a narrow high-frequency. Our locally made brick is a developed blend of cement and plastic fibres to reinforce its strength, make it lighter in weight and more porous. It is the pores that allow for sound absorption.

Wool
Wool is an ideal vehicle to dampen out sound. Tri-Art Audio blocks use local, 100% natural sheep wool to control sound frequencies in the cavities of the blocks and the Tuned Acoustic Damper.
Bamboo
In addition to it being renewable and esthetically pleasing, the bamboo used in all the cabinets has a vital function. It is composed of disassociated grains of varying densities laminated together. The lamination makes it sonically superior to other structural materials.

Gooey TM Suspension
Audio components are constantly in motion which will cause movement and vibrations. Vibration will tend to build up in the corners of the structures. This in turn will distort sound by smearing fine detail and adding extraneous noise. Gooeys are a formulated compound that will absorb and contain vibration.
